Violet

Violet I met earlier tonight. I challenged her to front flip one of the water slides with me in the back yard. We cut open our fingers and backs doing it. But smiles were found in the end

Violet I have heard about since the beginning of the dangerous summers. She gave Chelsea a home when no one else would. I asked Chelsea if this was the same Violet I had met tonight. She is.

Violet is beautiful. She is intimidating with tattoos and piercings and she smokes. A lot. I have yet to see her tonight without a cigarette in hand. She loves Chelsea. Violet says Chelsea is like her child. She really loves Chelsea. And she would and has sacrificed anything for her. That is beauty.

Violet’s story makes me ask myself if I’m really sacrificially loving people in my life. Her story is in progress, like everyone here. But I know God will use her. Her heart is big.
