Parker

Parker was kind enough to open his house to myself, my sister Chelsea and one of my best friends, Justin. He has thrown us a party in full Tucson fashion. This time the back yard of his house has been converted into an inflatable water park.

Parker is a few drinks in. He is a bit silly but he pursues you. He loves the people around him. He isn’t foolish with his relationships. I watch him manage the crowds in and out of his house and it’s humbling.

Parker is better at genuinely loving people drunk than I am sober. He is smart about it. A crew of people showed up who have beef with another crew currently at the house. Parker lovingly and with respect created a solution where both groups could enjoy his house and the company around us.

By the end of tonight I know I will call Parker a friend. He isn’t perfect. But God still uses him. I have more stories to tell. And more are happening as I write this.

If you can pray. Pray for peace. Everyone here is asking the same questions, “Where… and what, is home?”
