9 Days: Count down to Dangerous

I woke up this morning in The Villa, my Families compound in Chula Vista, CA. The compound is modeled after old hispanic architectures an sports earth tones, arches, french influenced doors and spanish influenced lighting. It’s a stones throw from Mexico but here it feels like we’re already over the border. In a good way.

The day was well spent on Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA. Switchfoot’s Bro Am packed the sandy streets and we all spent the day enjoying the surf and sun. When Jon Foreman took the stage they played a song that I haven’t thought about in a while: Meant to Live. Now if you’ve ever heard of Switchfoot you have probably heard this song. And for me, if you were to ask me yesterday, I probably would have told you this song is boarder-line over played. But today, this song took on a new meaning for me. As the song came into the bridge and the crowd sang out “We want more than this world’s got to offer”, I realized that was what I’ve been talking about. This idea of ‘Take Back Your Life’ just kept repeating in my head. We want more. Everything inside of us wants something. We want to up the ante. We want something crazy to happen. We want things to change. We dare to say, we want our lives to be the work of something bigger than this world.

We are meant to live for so much more.
